On April 4th the Lady Pacer softball team will host their annual breast cancer awareness game against Averett College. The game is held to raise money for breast cancer research, and for everybody to have a fun day at the ball field.

“As a player this is an important day for us because as women we want to help other women but, we are fortunate enough to get to play the game we love at the same time,” says junior pitcher Morgan Farmer.

This is also an important game for the Lady Pacers. They are currently ranked number 2 in the conference and the only team ahead of them is Averett. If the Pacers pull a sweep out they will move ahead to number 1, after being picked number 10 in the preseason standings. Even though this is a big game Coach Dobbins wants to make sure that the meaning of the “Pink” game is to support the Breast Cancer Research.

“With so many women affected by breast cancer it is important to do what we can to help,” says Coach Charlie Dobbins. “We want as many people as we can to be at the game to not only cheer us on as we play but to support a great cause.”

Come out this Saturday April 4th for a fun day at the ball field cheering on our Lady Pacer Softball team and contributing to a bigger cause at the same time. The first game starts at 2pm followed by another one at 4pm.
