Promises of Peace is a spiritual organization on William Peace University Campus. The organization was created to allow students the opportunity to share testimonies of their faith.
Rebecca Tshibambi, president of the organization, said the overall plan of the organization for this year is to bring people together. They also plan to do community service and local outreach with local churches.
Promises of Peace also plans to attend the Every Nation conference. The conference is hosted every year to give students from all over an opportunity to come and worship as one. The conference offers workshops, worship, and also guest speakers who preach the message of the gospel.
The organization hopes to start an Every Nation chapter on campus.
Goals for the organization include connecting people together who have common struggles in their relationship with God, spreading the news of Jesus Christ to the students of the Peace community, and to create a comfortable environment where people can talk about their faith.
“It’s a privilege to serve God on a college campus,” Rebecca stated. Her favorite scripture is Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage be not afraid neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Newcomer Tanner Brown who is part of the executive board said that his experience so far in the organization has been optimistic and encouraging, as quotes his favorite scripture Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Promises of Peace meets every other Tuesday at 7pm.
