Alamo Drafthouse Cinema offers all types of movies while serving a variety of food, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks that will be enjoyed by many folks, and it’s coming soon to Raleigh. Bring family, friends, or both. Alamo will be the spot to relax and get away from the stress of college and work life.
The Alamo is planning to open in Raleigh in mid March in the Longview Shopping Center on New Bern Avenue. Although there are other Alamos in other parts of the US, this is the first one coming to North Carolina and Raleigh gets to be the home of it. With there being a large population of college students and young families in Raleigh, it seems that the Alamo has picked a great location to reside to.
“Alamo Drafthouse Raleigh’s 11 screens will showcase the very best in new release, indie and foreign film, and the cinema’s unique classic film programming and special events,” according to Alamo’s website. “Theaters will be equipped with top-of-the-line digital 4K projection and dynamic surround sound.”
“Alamo Drafthouse will also install changeover 35mm projection to accommodate both classic films and new, non-digital releases. In addition to superior presentation, auditoriums will be fully outfitted with luxury recliners ensuring every seat in the house offers a viewing experience of unparalleled comfort.”
“The best film, food and drink all in one seat. Cold beer, hot movies, delicious snacks and meals; The Alamo Drafthouse is dinner, drinks, movies and events, all under one roof.”
Alamo will serve anything and everything. Milkshakes, beer, wine, soda, wings, pizza, salads, burgers, ice cream, popcorn and more. There will be plenty of options for everyone to choose from to eat and drink while watching movies.
“Our attention to detail in film presentation and programming has made us a second home to movie fans all over the planet and earned accolades from the likes of Entertainment Weekly (#1 theater in America), Wired.com (Coolest Movie Theater in the World) and Fandango.com (One of the Best Theaters in the the World), and Fandango.com (One of the Best Theaters in the Country).”
According to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, “In addition to the excellence that we strive for in food quality, service, film presentation and sound quality, we have received kudos in national and international publications for the experience that we create with our no-talking policy and our pre-show philosophy. In addition to that, we have become a household name amongst hard-core movie fans for our special event programming and unique events.”
The Alamo does not show commercials or ads. Instead, they create custom pre-shows with a theme to the majority of the features they program. They also hold a strict no cell phone and no talking policy, so they will not be distractions during the film.
“No other theater has come close to how awesome and creative they are with their screenings,” Skip Elsheimer, founder of the AV Geeks film archive, told WRAL. “Alamo Drafthouse was created by film fans, for film fans and Alamo Drafthouse Raleigh will be no exception, as it will introduce theatergoers to new films, directors and genres that would never play in the Triangle.”
