William Peace University’s Office of Advancement hosted a book signing for author and a former student Peace Ronnie Laughlin on Feb. 7 in Main Parlor.

Laughlin was a part of the 1976-77 women’s basketball team during her time at Peace.

“I was only here one year, but it was the best year of my life,” said Laughlin, “I am forever grateful for Peace College for providing such a good strong foundation, academically and socially…it was just all around a great experience for me.”

Laughlin’s book speaks on her battle with breast cancer and she shared her story with current and former students of Peace.

“The whole purpose behind the book is to just help others get through cancer and know that they can get through it,” said Laughlin, “what a great way to get it out to the William Peace University students and family to let them know about my journey.”

The event brought out a variety of alumni and current students.

“I am just excited to meet Ronnie and connect with her, as well as other alums,” said Megan Hofner, an alum of Peace and former board member.

President Dr. Brian Ralph honored Laughlin during halftime during the “Play4Kay” game against Meredith College.
