On February 26th, William Peace University students gathered on the main lawn, lounging in chairs, flipping through books, and soaking up the long-awaited sunshine. Organized by the Green Team, the Reading on the Lawn event was designed to help students reconnect with nature in a way that felt easy.

Green Team President, Nicky Taylor explains the relevance of this event.

“Normally, we do hands-on activities like gardening and cleanups, but we wanted something more laid-back,” Said Taylor. “We tried to create an event where people could just chill out, touch grass, and hang out in a relaxing environment before midterms.”

Taylor emphasized that the event was about giving students a space to unwind. “Midterms can be really overwhelming, so this was just a way to slow down and enjoy a peaceful moment outside,” Taylor said.

With warm weather finally making an appearance for the first time this semester, students took full advantage of the opportunity to read, relax, and reset.
