The Black Student Union hosted the very first Faculty Feud event at William Peace University on Sep. 17, bringing students and faculty together in a Family Feud–style competition.

BSU President TJ Hill wanted to begin this tradition at WPU as a way for students and faculty to interact, build community, and give students a shot at some bragging rights.

Organized by the BSU Executive Board, the competition took place in Kenan Hall and began at 5:30 p.m. This was the second event they have held so far this semester, following last month’s Vibe & Thrive kickoff event.

After an intense game the faculty team pulled out a win with a final score of 785 to 530. While the students will have to wait until next semester for another shot at the title, the event was widely considered a success. Photo by Mikayla Davis

Due to the amount of campus response and positive feedback BSU plans to continue hosting Faculty Feud each semester.

The student team featured Laia Jones ‘29, Joielle Robertson ‘29, Owen Peterson ‘28, Isabelle Tilley ‘25, and Mikayla Davis ‘25. The faculty and staff team consisted of Dean of Student Success Jalesa Sutton, Director of Financial Aid Daniesha Newby, Director of Student Involvement Kristin Koch, Assistant Director of Student Involvement Christine O’Donnell, and Associate Professor of Anthropology and Department Chair of Culture, History, and Politics Vincent Melomo.
