Students take a gamble on Casino Night (Demo)

Las Vegas came to William Peace University with Casino Night on Thursday, October 11th.
The event has held in the newly renovated Hermann Multi-Purpose auxiliary gym. Students were given $50,000 in chips and were able to play a variety of casino games including craps, roulette, money wheel, black jack, and Texas hold ’em.
At the end of the night, players cashed in their chips in return for raffle tickets which they used to enter to win a variety of prizes.
Prizes included tickets to the NC State Fair and many different gift cards, such as iTunes, Wal-Mart, Olive Garden, The Cupcake Shoppe, Outback Steakhouse and Starbucks.
All in all, Casino Night was a hit among students. “I liked the whole thing,” said Deja Barber, a first year at WPU. “I loved playing Texas hold ‘em, and the raffle had very good prizes.”
Erica Saraceno, a WPU sophomore, said, “Casino Night was a fun break from schoolwork. It was a great opportunity to socialize and have fun.”
