WPU students attend Phi Beta Lambda Leadership Conference

Nine students represented WPU at the North Carolina Phi Beta Lambda 38th Annual Fall Leadership Development Conference on November 2-3. The two-day conference took place at the Holiday Inn by Crabtree Valley Mall.
The students were able to attend several informational sessions based on building leadership, entrepreneurship, financial responsibility, and professionalism skills.
The workshops taught about a variety of topics including up and coming smart phone applications, how to sell yourself in 60 seconds, time management, and resume/interviewing skills.
Carlos Cirino, a sophomore at WPU, attended a session on finances. “It was very informative,” he said. “Not only did I learn about finances, but I learned what to do to not go over your limit.”
Kayla Myhre, also a WPU sophomore, said, “We had a great time networking with lots of new people from all over the state of North Carolina, attending various workshops, and even winning a chapter award. We look forward to attending the National Fall Leadership Conference later this month and expanding our network even wider.”
Several members of the WPU Phi Beta Lambda chapter will be representing WPU at the National Fall Leadership Conference on November 16-17 in Charlotte, NC.
