Newly elected governor Pat McCrory has had an array of festivities take place in his honor over the past month.
One of the most popular events among supporters was the Inaugural Ball held at the Raleigh Convention Center.
John Anderson, an Albermarle City Council candidate said, “The vibe of the ball was one of fellowship and fun.
Anderson says he has high hopes for the new administration.
“I see the McCrory administration tightening the spending and making government more efficient.”
The Foundation for North Carolina, a non-partisan, nonprofit corporation hosted the Inaugural Celebration, which included music from The Chairmen of the Board and The Blue Dogs.
Elizabeth Edwards, an eighth district congressional aid and Inaugural Ball attendee said, “I believe Governor McCrory has put together a bipartisan team to lead North Carolina into an economic recovery.”
McCrory, the former mayor of Charlotte, has already begun working with the Legislature here in Raleigh.
“I believe he will govern from the center,” Edwards said.
“With his experience as a mayor, he understands the need to work together and to govern for the betterment of the entire state- from the mountains, to the Piedmont, to the coast.”
