Imagine a place where you can jump, surf and fly all under one roof.
The largest indoor entertainment center (IEC) in the United States will be opening up in the fall of 2013 in Apex, North Carolina.
Carolina Sports Holdings, LLC announced last month that they are developing the United States first indoor Adrenaline Park, featuring heart-pounding adrenaline pumping attractions such as indoor surfing, indoor skydiving and the creation of a mega trampoline park.
The Adrenaline Park will be in the one hundred and forty seven square feet Henry Wurst building and will be nearly 30,000 more square feet than the current largest IEC located in Central Ohio.
Two entrepreneurs, Myles Owens III and Steve Werner, developed the concept.
Beyond surfing, skydiving, and trampolines, the park will have high-speed electric go-karts (45mph), the largest laser tag arena in the Carolinas, a skateboard park, along with a full service restaurant and bar.
“While patrons will be at the park to have fun, our first and most important focus is safety,” said Owens. “This will be the safest facility in the United States to do these kind of fun and exciting things.”
The business expects to hire eighty employees and expects to attract 300,000 local adrenaline junkies. The Adrenaline Park will be build out in three phases, the first to include the 20,000 square feet of trampolines, including foam pits, dodge ball courts, and basketball dunking stations, indoor go-carts, ropes course and laser tag.
“I’ve been so excited for the opening date since I read the press release a couple weeks ago,” said Lauren Moore a Meredith College student. “Seems like there is everything to have fun under one roof.”
Owens believes that phase one of the Adrenaline Park will open in the fall.
