Located in Joyner House, the counseling center has a lot to offer WPU students.
Nicole Davis was recently hired as head of the counseling center.
“I really love helping college students navigate through the challenges of transitioning from adolescents to adulthood”, said Davis.
“I’m excited to be a part of the new changes here at WPU”.
The counseling center offers students short term individual therapy, group therapy, can assist with referrals, and provide a medication evaluation.
“The people in the wellness center are invested in the well being of our student population and love helping our students in any way possible”, said Resident Director, Brittany Tryon.
The counseling is expected to grow as the school grows. Next year WPU hopes to staff more counselors to accommodate the students.
The counseling center is opened Monday 8:30-5 and Tuesday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcomed between the hours of 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. daily, otherwise you must make an appointment.
