Looking for a way to have fun and get into shape? Zumba with Kelli might be just what you need. Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30, Kelli Miranda-Baltimore, a 2011 graduate from Peace, teaches Zumba classes in the dance studio.
Zumba is a dance fitness program incorporating salsa, hip-hop, reggaeton, and merenque elements. “Kelli really works us which is the push I need,” says Tarecka Payne, a WPU junior. “The fun dance moves and energy really makes me want to do it more.”
Along with dance-like choreography, Zumba includes squats and lunges, as well as resistance training. Kelli also includes high and low intensity choreography to tend to all skill levels.
The classes are free to WPU students, faculty, staff and alumni. “Zumba is a great outlet for faculty and students here at Peace,” says Sharon Hackney, a junior at WPU. “It’s a really fun way to get fit!”
