October has been dubbed with a great honor as being called Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This past weekend marked the first weekend in October, which meant that it was time again for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.

Our Pacers from Peace participated in this year’s walk.  The Pacer family was strong and came out in great support to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

While there were some out there just for support there were some people who were there because this disease has had a personal impact.

William Peace junior Challie Sullivan said,  “I have an aunt who has died from this, and this is why I am here to support.”

The event was overall a great experience.  The three mile event raised more than $200,000 to go towards breast cancer research in hopes to defeat this terrible disease.
