The WPU women’s soccer team played the Maryville College Scotts September 20th at WakeMed Soccer Park. Maryville is a D2 team, and one of our rivalry teams.
In the first quarter we had really good defense, and the Scotts until 7:00 left in the 45:00 quarter. In the second, the Scotts scored again with 31:50 left in the quarter. The third goal came with 21:21 minutes left. Then, with six minutes left in the game Maryville scored a fourth. Final score: 5-0.
After getting crushed by the Scotts last year 12-1, the Pacers were expecting to lose this game. But WPU held their ground and made marked improvement over last year.
