On Saturday, October 18, 2014 the William Peace University women’s soccer team took on North Carolina Wesleyan College.

“This senior game was bitter sweet. Devin Thompson (senior) got a red card in her last home game ever and as soon as she was off the field the atmosphere of the game instantly changed. It is going to be really tough to replace her in the next coming season,” said Shannon Maddex, a WPU Sophomore soccer player.

With the women’s soccer team having only two seniors this season who have made a positive impact for the women’s soccer team it is going to be difficult filling their spots in the coming years.

Maddex stated, “Jessica Littleton (senior) who is a talented player and gives her all on the field. This game really showed cased their playing abilities and soccer isn’t going to be the same without them.”

Peace was defeated by NC Wesleyan three to zero. The Pacers only have three away games remaining in the 2014 season.

“It has been an honor playing for the pacers and I’m so glad I gained sisters that I never knew I would have,” said Jessica Littleton, a WPU Senior soccer player.

The Pacers will be back in action on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Mary Baldwin College at 3:00pm.
