On Saturday, November 1, 2014 the William Peace University women’s volleyball team took on North Carolina Wesleyan College and Piedmont College. “Last season we were fortunate to have a lot of success. This season we started off slow but over time I feel like we have gotten better and proved that we can do more and be better,” said Megan Mansfield, a WPU Senior volleyball player.
These were the last two regular season games for this year for the Pacers volleyball team. “This season hasn’t turned out expectedly especially after last season when we accomplished many things and broke school records,” said Connor Davis, a WPU Junior volleyball player.
Peace took NC Wesleyan to five sets beating them three sets to two sets. Peace fell short to Piedmont losing in three sets. “This season is a little different than last years because we’ve had to overcome some challenges. But I wouldn’t trade this group of girls or this season for anything because I have learned a lot about myself and about what it takes to be a team,” said Davis.
The Peace Pacers will be back in action on Friday, November 7, 2014 in Martinsville, Virginia for the first round of conference play where they will face Meredith College at 5:00pm.
