Peace Making Internships Priority

MATTHEW ARDWhen entering the workforce, it’s always good to have some experience under your belt. Here at William Peace University, the faculty and staff make getting an internship a top priority.
According to U.S. News & World Report, William Peace University is ranked #1 in the nation among schools that produced the largest percentage of interns. Matthew Ard, a senior at WPU, has spent this past summer interning at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He completed over 500 hours and has earned himself a permanent position after he graduates in Spring 2016.
He has been offered the entry position as a Management Trainee once he has his diploma where he will be making around $40,000 a year.
“Getting firsthand experience in a real work environment has prepared me tremendously for my future after graduation,”
said Ard.
His great customer service as well as his understanding of the Enterprise system has set him up with a promising career path. Managing, sales, customer service, and work ethic are some of the skills that he has built on since starting at Enterprise.
The benefits from this internship are as Ard states, “endless.” The most obvious benefit is having a job waiting on him after graduation but also a great internship with a well known company to add to a resume.
“Peace has the system in place to build students into professionals that have a good shot at landing solid jobs after graduation,” said Ard. “I was blessed to be given the opportunity to get such great experience under my belt.”
