With classes moving to online due to the coronavirus, and students having to move out of their dorms, boredom has increased more than ever before. With nowhere to go, what else is there to do besides eat, watch t.v., and sleep? Oh yeah, besides classes too but that’s not the point right now.
The point is, is that we’re all somewhat bored during this time and need something to entertain us, and you can’t have entertainment without food. Therefore, I’m going to give you some ideas of shows to watch and snacks to eat while you’re cooped up in your room.
Let’s start with shows.
Shameless. This is by far one of my favorite shows ever. It’s really provocative but funny, and it does have some realistic elements to it. There’s nine seasons right now with every episode being about 50 minutes, so it’s definitely a show that’s binge-worthy. This can be watched on Showtime or Netflix.
Beastar. I’ve never personally watched this show myself but I plan on doing so and maybe you can too during this time. “This show is an anime and really funny. It’s so weird that sometimes you’re gonna be like what the heck is going on, but it’s definitely worth a watch,” said Andrew Mims, junior at UNCG. This can only be watched on Netflix.
The Mandalorian. This is for all the Star Wars fans! I’m not even one and I will say this show was really good. There’s only one season so far, but you definitely won’t be disappointed if you haven’t seen it already. Baby Yoda definitely makes everything better too. This can be watched only on Disney Plus and is also family-friendly.
This Is Us. Now this one is definitely a tear-jerker and I would definitely recommend it for anyone to watch. There’re many different lessons that can be taken away from each episode and you’ll walk away having a good feeling inside. This show is available on Hulu and Amazon Prime and is also family-friendly.
There’s many more other great shows to watch during this time, these are just some suggestions just in case you’re looking for something new to watch.
Last but not least, we have to have something to munch on when we watch the shows, so let’s talk about some snacks to eat.
Sour gummy worms. Note that they don’t have to be sour to still be good, but Khalil Thompkins loves them sour and it’s his favorite junk food to eat while passing time. “I’ve been eating a lot of sour gummy worms and watching the Amazing Ultimate Spiderman,” said Thompkins.
Edamame yogurt and almonds. Some people’s snacks range from healthy to unhealthy, which is completely fine. Chandler Metcalf eats edamame yogurt and almonds, especially since he’s doing his best to stay healthy during this time. He’s trying to keep his fit and face looking good! Maybe try to give these two items a try if you ever get tired of what you’re eating.
Hot Funyuns. This is my all time favorite go-to snack. If you eat these though just make sure you like spicy food and have some water in hand!
Overall, I know it’s not a good feeling practicing social distancing and not being able to do much, but just take this time to relax, enjoy some shows, and eat some snacks!
