Students and faculty de-stress with yoga

Yoga has always been a great workout tool and offers many benefits that help the students and faculty at William Peace University.
“I think yoga helps with stress because it gives time to just take a step back and relax without having to worry about all the things I have to do,” said Sarah Troxler, a student at William Peace University.
Yoga also helps with any back or neck problems that students or faculty might face.
“Because students spend so much time at the computer they need something to help align the back and neck,” said Dr. Jennifer Tagsold, a professor at WPU. “I also love yoga because it offsets the stiffness that sitting at a desk creates.”
Meditation is practiced in yoga and also helps with stress and personal reflection.
“It is important for students to press pause and occasionally focus on how they are breathing,” Tagsold said. “In this busy life, we all need moments of quiet, blissful reflection.”
Yoga with Ganesh Om is offered every Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Friday at 1 p.m. at William Peace University on the 2nd floor landing of Kenan .
